Sweet. I did a poster for Oskar Blues and besides a little cash they gave me a case of Ten Fidy and a case of Gubna. My refrigerator is happy. |

You got a picture of that poster, SL? Had some Ten Fidy last night. Definitely the superior to LH's Milk Stout but I think I actually prefer the Milk Stout due to it being a bit lighter. |

Cheese Beer? As great as Oskar Blues is I dont think even they could pull that off. The taste of cheese in liquid form makes me want to puke just thinking about it. Or am I misunderstanding? (Which seems like the more likely scenario.) |

You're misunderstanding. It was a beer/cheese pairing event. |

Insulted Imkes dad (again) by bringing our own beer. Hey, it's weekend, I look forward to drinking the good stuff, you can have some too if you wish. He'll get used to it. Or not. |

Tell him to take a seat in the Drie Horne brewery and sample his ass off. Maybe he'll understand. EDIT: If you go to the bierwinkel in the city, try Eem Rosebud. Has nothing to do with roses. Their Bitter was good too, wasn't like an English bitter. |

My favorite session beer. Can be tough to get hold over here. |

Speaking of session beers, I've really been digging the Avery Joe's Pilsner. They say they brewed it for lovers of IPAs. Alcohol is about 4.3%, but it has a very nice hop presence. |

Also, SL, once the semester ends I am heading up to Oskar Blues's new brewery/restaurant. Anything I should be sure to check out? Old Chubb on nitro tap seems like a definite try for me. |

I presume you mean Liquids And Solids? If so, they have about forty taps. They have all the usual OBlues brews, plus a bunch you've probably never had before. If they have Velvet Elvis, give that a try. At the very least try a sample of the ODB Barleywine. I don't really care for barleywines but that one is very good. Their selection will vary; sometimes they have some barrel-aged versions, etc. I think the last time I was there they had an extra hoppy version of the Gordon, which was delicious. On the menu they make a different gumbo every day and they're usually pretty good. You can also check out the tasting room at their brewery, which is about a half mile away - it's called The Tasty Weasel. |

I'll give Velvet Elvis a try and sample the barleywine, a style I don't think I have yet to try. I havent tried Gordon yet but not being much of a hops guy I will probably stay away from that extra Hoppy Gordon. Gumbo sounds really good to my empty stomach right now. How is their BBQ, they seemed to talk that up on their website? Thanks for the info. |

I AM REALLY ENJOYING ANDERSON VALLEY HOP OTTIN' IPA RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EDIT: Oh, and Flying Dog and De Molen have joined hands on a one-off brew. Beer shop in town ordered 48 bottles, but got only 12. I have one. It's called 'The Bat out of Hell', so I guess it is based on their Imperial Russian Stout 'Hell and Damnation'. They sealed the cork, so I'm sure it can be stored for 20 years or so, again. (and I seem to need the edit button a lot) |
