Adam, you're killing it with those New Mexico brews. I just finished my third sixer of Deschutes Hop Trip, and second of Founder's Harvest Ale. Always sad to see the fresh hop brews go, but here come the stouts (BCS and Perennial Abraxas).

Had another Elevated IPA from La Cumbre and that beer only gets better and better with each try. Also tried a new New Mexico brewery, Bosque. Tried their 3rd year anniversary release, a baltic porter, which was good. Never got around to trying their wet hop ipa which won gold at GABF. Overall, very happy with the NM beer scene so far but they appear to be lacking in farmhouse offerings. No brewery here to replace Funkwerks or Prairie for me, unfortunately. At least not currently.

Also, NM just started getting Founders which is great. I didnt' see Harvest Ale yet (though, admittedly, forgot to look for i!) but was able to grab some Breakfast Stout and Backwoods Bastard. Still yet to get around to Hop Trip, too, hope I didn't blow it. Might have to make a visit to the beer store today.

No Prairie or Funkwerks in NM? Damn, man! I assumed NM had both. That sucks! I don't know what I'd do without Prairie - especially Bomb and its variants. Funkwerks seems content with its small distribution footprint. I'm used to making do with getting a 4-pack of Saison or Tropic King every few months when a friend or client comes back from CO.

Funkwerks ever so slowly expanding. They have made it to Arizona and Texas but have skipped over NM. For now, if I want my saison fix I guess I am going to have to stick with Saison Dupont. Which I really can't complain about, no drop in quality there. If anything, one could argue a step up I suppose. But I do tend to be a homer and have a bias for local.

Hit the beer store earlier looking for Founders Harvest and/or Hop Trip. Found neither. Ended up with a mixed six local beers (nothing new, just tried and true favorites) plus some Odell Myrcenary, which remains my favorite IIPA. Not a bad haul, but wouldn't have minded some wet hops.

I'm curious. Anyone outside of Ohio heard of either Jackie O's or Hoof Hearted? And if so, is there a buzz about these guys, or have you had any of their beers?

Both are jewels in Ohio's beer world, Jackie O's is probably much better known, but neither distribute outside the borders. Selfishly I kinda like them being under the radar.
Kind of a Hill Farmstead or Treehouse Brewing thing perhaps?

The backbone of Birra Etrusca comes from two-row malted barley and an heirloom Italian wheat. Specialty ingredients include hazelnut flour, pomegranates, Italian chestnut honey, Delaware wildflower honey and clover honey. A handful of whole-flower hops are added, but the bulk of the bitterness comes from gentian root and the sarsaparilla-like Ethiopian myrrh resin.

My favorite thus far in the Ancient Ales series. You can really taste the slick honey.

Wiper and true 'Belgian style winter ale' - I like this. Doesn't come across as just short of 7% but delivers that alcohol quickly to a thirsty body! Like a nice bitter with sneaky extras depths.

My favorite brewery, 'Pretty Things', out of Massachusetts is calling it quits. It's such an odd feeling. You invest so much belief and emotion into something and the bottom drops out at any time…kind of like when your favorite band breaks up.

My area started getting Pretty Things brews earlier this year. The Frumapa, Jack D'Or and the quad (can't remember it's name) really stood out - excellent for their respective styles. Huge bummer that they're shutting down.

Very smooth. Almost as strong as their 'The Shire' stout, but not too crazy with adjuncts (no coffee/chocolate).

This brewery is always unfiltered and spicy.

Super complex holiday ale.

Bosque Brewing - Imperial Coffee Brown Ale. Brewed with cold pressed coffee, cacao nibs, oats, and lactose sugars. Stuff is damn good.

Had a lovely festive treat of a local collaboration - Moor and Arbor, the Moor version I had was ok but overpriced, the Arbor version is twice as strong in all respects and cheaper.

Love Arbor. This was a 9% imperial coffee stout.

Got a couple of brown ales from them today, one called Mrs Zippy which is a US-style brown, the other has some sort of rye component. They have specialised in 'pale and hoppy' in the last couple of years but their malt work on the browns is fantastic.

The finest sour I've ever encountered.

A true spontaneously fermented Belgian Lambic. Oak-aged for 3 years with blended wort from four different breweries (Cantillon).
Character is amazing, ancient library parchment moldy sour hay vintage cheese.

I've never seen a beer score so high

Another juicy Brett sour. Funky and cherry zesty.

My best friends homebrew. A big Belgian. We share the homebrewing mash tun. I will not say that I am in direct competition with him, but he makes it seem that way.

Got tricked into buying this four pack today (I mentioned to the store owner something about select beers that people wait in line for).
I am the furthest thing from an IPA guy, but this has to be the best I have ever tasted!

A perfect score!

Hang on a minute, isn't a pint 568ml or something like that?
Is this another silly UK/US imperial measurement thing?

Tilquin blends some nice Lambics, that's for sure.

I tried Sierra Nevada's "Gose Style" what-have-you....it's got cactus juice and grapefruit, or something like that.

I don't care for it at all.

I'll take their (La Cumbre) Elevated IPA over their rotating Project Dank IPA, but this latest batch of Project Dank is pretty great.

DIY crayons and glue sticks.

Glen Cornick inspired Brown Ale almost done bottle conditioning.

Figured I'd try to brew an ancient-style Scottish honey Braggot ale.

Just bottled my 'wild fermented' damson wine, I figured as it's Spring it's the time to do that sort of thing.

It's delicious!
Vibrant pink/purple colour, perfectly clear, crisp and fresh taste with no dead yeast flavour or funk. Full plum profile and similar 'warm' alcohol feel to a stronger cider or wine.

Shame there's only five bottles of it now! Definite project for scaling up next year (this year).

Got a demijohn of cider done the same way but I'm hoping that's busy doing the secret secondary fermentation as we speak so don't want to disturb it just yet. I did find a bottle of cider from maybe three years ago down the back of cupboard though so going to uncork that and see if it's undrinkable, alright, or matured to perfection.

I guess a 'Grisette' is for coal mine/city workers what a Saison is for farmworkers.

Very floral and spicy with a sharp, thirst-quench that lives up to it's historical derivations (cool refreshing low abv ale for workers).

Bottled the cider, much more farmy than the damson wine but the may be because the taster I had was cloudy with sediment from the bottom of the vessel.

Got them stored up for a celebration in a few weeks, and midsummer.
