"Take Five" was a favorite of my Dad's, so I heard it a lot around the house when I was young. An awesome smoking & drinking song if there ever was one.

RIP

Damn, 91.

This is a bummer.

Time Out is one of the very few Jazz records I own. Smooth as fuck.

RIP. He's become a recent favorite of mine the last couple years or so.

A day short of 92 is a hell of a run though.

Was sad to hear about this. I enjoy his music and he seemed like a real class act. I'll never forget him on Burns' Jazz doc, narrating the story of returning to the states after WWII with the mixed-race band he'd been playing with for the troops. Sad news.

shameful, at best.

also, take five was a Paul Desmond composition.
This is my favorite Brubeck penned tune (one that perhaps Rush owes a debt to?)
