Fu Manchu? If they get more local than London I'm in. Might make it up to town for Ufomammut.

Still looking like the Cosmic Dead next up for me. Got a ticket for the Heads if not, will be the only time I've seen them apart from Roadburn (2006?) despite living in their hometown.

My mate bought desertfest early birds but no idea if I can get on that next year.

Last- HOF. Great. They're playing 10,000 Years on this tour. I fucking love that song.

Next- EHG. Good times will be had for sure.

Pinkish Black is excellent, old-school 70's synth / Italian horror-soundtrack stuff. Knowledgeable dudes, not trend-hoppers. Glad they are finally on a good package tour.

About to head out for Cosmic Dead and been feeling really strange. Got a mild fever and experiencing a return of social anxiety nonsense. Not been out in ages (it feels) and setting out in the dark on my own to a busy place suddenly feels worrying, even though it's something I've done hundreds of times over the years.

Probably just drink some cider on the way and stop being odd.

Got there late, missed Henry Blacker but saw Girl Sweat who were/was truly awful. One bloke in a bad taste shirt, a Casio and a drum machine. Ironically terrible? Made even worse by the fact that his kit started to cack up on him so the sound was bad too. As I said to a friend, would have been better if they'd booked a Status Quo covers band, at least there would have been something to bop along to.
Cosmic Dead were good, sounding tight and metallic in comparison to other nights. Small group of fucked pillocks in the crowd were crashing around, someone took offence and one of them was right up in his face and trying to cuddle him to get a rise for about ten minutes. Tried having a word but he was having none of it so I fetched two pints of ice water from the bar. As luck would have it he was writhing on the floor with one of his offensive mates when I returned. I 'stumbled' and tipped one of the pints over them, mostly down the back of pillock number one's trousers. Worked a treat, they melted away into the background damp and sheepish and I got to enjoy the rest of the set with a smug action hero grin.

Hope they're not at The Heads!

There's an all dayer this Saturday that looks promising but not sure I'll get familial permission.

Due to a tight schedule I don't get to attend as many shows as I would like.

Last Ufomammut, next nothing planned until Acid King in October.

Due to a baby and fairly regular gig schedule of my own, I don’t get out to nearly as many shows as I used to. But I’m gonna hate myself if I don’t go see Goatsnake next week.

Last should been EHG, but they canceled their east coast tour. So last was actually HOF.

Next- GODFLESH next week. I love the new album (released last year) and this will be the first time I've seen them play new material since 1997ish. Really fucking psyched about that.

Also on deck this month is Ghost and maybe Uncle Acid/ Ecstatic Vision (although really mostly to see Ecstatic Vision).

Ghost sold out in like 5 minutes here and the stubhub tickets are going for $150 a pop right now. I'll still check Stubhub the day of show but my chances of seeing Papa E-III are quite low.

Probably have a better chance of seeing the real pope at this point.

The Philly show was originally scheduled for the weekend when the real Pope is visiting Philly. It would've been the perfect time to hold a Satanic Black Mass, obviously, and plans were being developed for just that. But then Philly fucked it all up by making the security precautions so onerous that nobody would've been able to get actually get to the fucking show, so Ghost postponed to the following week.

It's also way sold out here.

This Sunday: Food Truck and Rock Carnival w/ Clutch, Anthrax, Crobot, Slaughter, Lita Ford, TT Quick, LA Guns (going to do my best to miss Godsmack and STP)

Heh, mine's the same (except for Sunday). If STP were playing and I was at the show, I'd check them out (sorta how you look at an accident on the highway). I saw some recent footage of them, and Weiland looked like a zombie- what a trainwreck! I think I last saw them in like 1993 with Butthole Surfers and Flaming Lips.

Weiland isn't in STP anymore, it's the old singer from Linkin Park.

Oof! For me, him, STP, and Linkin Park alumni.

The video is down, but if you can find it on the world wide web, it's tragically fantastic.

Godflesh was incredible at Hopscotch Fest in Raleigh on Saturday. Due to festival scheduling, fan preferences etc. they played their first appearance in the southeast in 20 years to a crowd of about 125, while people stood in an at-capacity line to try to get in to see King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard...

Seeing Godflesh in Buffalo next week. I don't know why they're stopping there of all places, but I'm happy for it. Really, really excited to see them!
