Tried to think of a catchy subject line but no doubt failed.

Here's Sacred Reich covering Black Sabbath

One more:

If you've never heard that kids' chorus, check out more of their videos. Awesome stuff.

Ryan Adams's most recent version of "Wasted Years" by Iron Maiden is good. So is his version of Oasis's "Wonderwall".

That Hanson version of "Optimistic" isn't bad, surprisingly. That's always been one of my favorite Radiohead tunes.

I saw Wino and Scott Kelly on their acoustic tour last winter… they did a pretty kickass version of Joy Division’s “Isolation”. I also dig it when Shrinebuilder covers JD.

Sepultura's cover of "The Hunt" by New Model Army from Chaos A.D. is interesting.

In general I like covers that add something new to the original. A version close to the original can be fun live. What I am tired of are those contrived "weird cover versions", lounge-versions of death metal songs and the like, esp. if a band or project does nothing else (Nouvelle Vague or Hellsongs). That shit got old after the first Apocalyptica-album.
