The Brought Low – Third Record Gozu – Locust Season Black Mountain – Wilderness Heart Sasquatch – III Engineers – Three Fact Fader Monster Magnet – Mastermind (best MM album in well over 10+ years) Them Crooked Vultures – s/t (I hated it at first, but now i dig it) Skanska Mord – The Last Supper I still need to check out that new Asteroid too, But I am sure it is damn good. |

Those sHEAVY records are strange, two new guitarists, two new albums, I expected the worst, but they're both pretty damned good. Solace "A.D." Wino "Adrift" Night Horse "Perdition Hymns" Gypsyhawk Monster Magnet "Mastermind" (Seriously a real markedly stronger record than 4 Way Diablo, best since Powetrip, holds up, too, listening to it now, want to crank it) Sasquatch "III" Brought Low "3rd Record" High On Fire "Snakes For The Divine" Firebird "Double Diamond" Lots of good stuff this year. I haven't even gotten to the Metal stuff. New Nevermore, Overkill, Iron Maiden. |

Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones Please excuse me while I re-attach my face! Next down would be the new Elliott's Keep. There have been several others but they all pale in comparison, although the new Heidevolk gets an honorable mention for its vocal originality. I'm hoping Humo del Cairo's s/t raises the bar. It just arrived yesterday so I haven't had the chance to spin it yet. |

Mostly copied from the other site: Too soon to say for me. E.g. I haven’t got Amplifier's, Wino’s, Enslaved’s or Earthride’s newies and others yet (and all of these sound awesome from reviews etc) and I have yet to fully get to grips with newies by Cathedral, Negura Bunget and Lantlos. However, the following are bound to be on my list: > Asteroid “II” > Drudkh “Handful Of Stars” > Shining “BlackJazz” > Ufomammut “Eve” > Yawning Man “Nomadic Pursuits” (The major disappointment for me was the Red Sparowes album.) |
