Eh, I'm not diggin it too much. Sounds a bit too polished, missing that darker vibe from previous Failure. What do you think Neutron?

Neutron, I just saw this posted to Empty Bottle's Facebook page;

Shiner, 7/19 at Empty Bottle. Hope that, and the Middle of the Map fest, means some more action to come.

I think I mentioned these guys on the old board, but dusted of these 90s pseudo grunge record recently. Stick from Lawrence, KS. The album "Heavy Bag". It's actually a really good listen from front to back. Riffs almost like Alice in Chains, prob similar to other midwest locals like Paw, but I liked these guys better than Paw. Link to my favorite track from Heavy Bag

I had this back in the day. I remembered being disappointed by it overall, though I should give it another listen. It wasn't terrible, I think I just had my hopes up too high after hearing one song on the radio.

They do have that "bendy" sound as Jerry Cantrell would put it. With a little Dogman-era King's X. Or maybe I'm just thinking that because there's a black dude in the group.

That's racist!!!

This was my jammy jam, obviously the Smashing Pumpkins-esque guitar octave licks appealed to me in 1993.

I picked this up cd out of a used bin in a college town record shop. Had no idea who they were or what they sounded like ...but prob made the purchase based off the one word band name, in the alt era ..where there's at least a decent chance it would be good if you had a one word band name, it also sort looked like Helmet/amp rep type album cover. For going in blindly, it was a pleasant surprise. Seems like Lawrence, Kansas had a decent music scene at that time...Paw, Kill Creek, etc getting signed to major labels. I was also prob baked and had vans on at the time of the purchase as well. Low risk investment

If this was a Sat night, and not Sunday.....I would consider it. They also just listed an Austin,TX show in July, and looks like Starless is getting the vinyl treatment release. Bottom line, the chance for me making up missing that mini reunion is getting much better.

nutz, that can pretty much end the thread....after some show reviews from Neutron please that is.

I briefly considered flying to Minneapolis..for the Shiner show with Porcupine opening at The Triple Rock. But I'm also trying to sell my house this summer, so all fun stuff is pretty much on hold.
