Nice to see a new forum so quickly after the crash; thanks to those responsible.

I'm thinking about putting together a festival here in North Carolina next summer, and curious about others that have popped up and been reasonably successful. Aware of Emissions of the Monolith (Ohio) and wasn't there one in Fredericksburg Maryland? What others are doing well or sucking, anywhere Midwest, South or East?

First trying to determine if there's room for one, and then taking the next steps. All input will be appreciated.

Last fall of 2009, some folks put on Planet Caravan in Asheville NC, and even though there was a flood of stoners into town, they didn't do well enough to repeat. Probably because they flew in larger acts like Wino, Pentagram, Yob and some band from Europe. I'm probably aiming for more local stuff like Sourvein, Weedeater, Zoroaster, etc.

Anyhoo...

The scene can always use more events. Just be careful & plan well so as not to lose your ass financially. This year's Dallas Doom Daze busted my ass. The scene might be better in your region though.
