I'm fine if it is, I'm just asking if this is where we're all congregating now that our old home is gone. I know there has been discussion on Facebook of other forums/ sites, I just want to know if this is the 'primary' one. So I'm not checking & contributing the exact same things to multiple places...

My question is will this forum come crashing down because of traffic if it indeed gets anywhere near the amount of hits sr got?

I wonder about that. I think the "other" forum has the right idea by making it so you have to log in to cut down on traffic. Not sure what might happen with the bandwidth and traffic.

n't.

the stonerrocklives.com board seems to have the same level of new threads/posts. this place has a fuller album reviews section (saved from the old sr.com) but the other place has a more active jam room, and the gen discs are probably equally as busy. a lot of the same faces in both places.

So far so good on the traffic front. There were over 20,000 page views on Monday, and I didn't have any problems. Rest assured, if there are issues with hosting, keeping the site up, whathaveyou, they will be resolved with the utmost expediency.

JJ, I'm sure that people would be happy to donate if it becomes an issue.

Hoping it doesn't come to that. I'd sell ads on the blog first, and even that's a last-ditch kind of thing. I'm not worried about it.

We could have a kidney drive, people could donate unwanted kidneys that we sell for cash in order to finance the site.

Personally I like this site better from what I have seen of both.

This is definitely the better site. More attractive layout, better features and more activity on the whole. I'm even compelled toward better behavior than I was on sr.com for some strange reason, even though JJ is being light-handed with the modding. Weird, huh?

I like stonerrocklives ok, but I find myself gravitating here much more. This seems to be community consensus, by and large.

a consensus of exactly 9 registered users at this point in time

I think that both of these forums will fill a niche (right now reviews here and jam room there), so I'm not going to commit to saying this site or that site is "the one" just to gain favor with the administrators in either place like I've seen a few jonesers doing.

I think it is awesome that there were people willing to pick up where sr.com left off.

if we'd all just start sharing our needles, we wouldn't have financing issues
