I have a 6 disc unit in my car. I also keep a cpouple of cases there too and still find myself being lazy enough to get sick of the same 6 cds.

What is this thing you call a CD?

I kid.

I'm real streaky with what I listen to. I'll usually listening to a certain band or album over and over for about a week and then move on to something else.

I'm constantly changing what I listen to so that I don't burn myself out on a particular album. Although, I do have my favorites which I always seem to go back to.

A few favorites as well, I but I reload by "new shit" file in my iTunes about every 6 months and play that on shuffle. Except of course for those albums that just can't be played on shuffle.

I do the mp3's onto data disc now...reads the folders nice and keeps the rarer stuff from getting scuffed and ruined laying in the car. Disc holds quite a few albums, and if they get scuffed, who cares..make another

I changed from a single shot CD player to a new USB stick/ipod enabled alpine unit for this very reason, before that I used to keep about 10 or 12 cds stuffed randomly around the dash - was always the same 10 damn near.

Bought a 4GB pen drive for the USB slot with full intention of changing it every month or so, but guess what - a year later and still listening to pretty much the same stuff!

Different in the house, I make a point of revisitng older stuff as well as listening to the new stuff.

I rotate em when I go down to the crick to wash my bloomers and take the old mule in for shoeing.

Even though my car has a 6 cd player i use the iPod. I do rotate some cds at home because i like to listen to music when falling asleep, but again, it's usually more or less of the same albums because there's stuff that you can't just fall asleep to.

It varies.

I do have a few staples that don't leave:

Pink Floyd - Animals
Colour Haze - All
Nirvana - Live At Reading
Astra - The Weirding

Lately, my rotation hasn't rotated in months, though new purchases have been added to it upon each purchase. I guess if I were to average things out maybe every month or two.

(I am referring to my car rotation)

Pink Floyd - Animals

That hasn't left my rotation in years either.

I have a 6 CD changer and I seem to take 2 weeks to a month to take the inititive to change the discs. I have cheap mp3 1G player that isn't loud enough through my car stereo, so I stick with the cds. It takes about a month for me to start replacing stuff on the mp3 player, usually starting with the songs that keep popping up via the random setting.

Mine rotate at 200 rpm at the outside edge and an astounding 500 rpm at the inside of the disc, approximately. That's so fast it would blow your damn mind.

Beat that with your retro-cool LPs and Singles at their pitiful 33 and 45 rpm's, respectively.

I'm still operating the cassettes. I keep three boxes, 45 total, with one box being the "keeper" that remains the same for emergencies, and the other two rotated as often as I can make new ones. It is a waste of time as I've got an ipod, but tapes are pretty much indestructible and I have so many kicking around that I keep going with it.

Every 5,000 to 7,000 spins and as recommended in the CD booklet.
