So.....how is that Emerson, Lake and Powell tape? Is he named "Cozy" after the guy that did that great instrumental in the 40's/50s "topsy"?

According to wikipedia, his name was inspired by jazz drummer Cozy Cole. I guess he figured Cozy Powell sounded better than Colin Flooks.

Never heard the Emerson, Lake & Powell tape. I'm surprised it wasn't followed up with Emerson, Laike & Paice. Emerson, Lake & Drumbo would have been nice.

That clip is completely bad-ass. How about some Emerson, Lake and Dunbar, Emerson, Lake and Aldridge, or some Emerson, Lake and Rondinelli?

Weren't you involved in a Boredoms mega-drum circle once? Did all the drummers watch that to get pumped up before the gig?

How mint would Emerson, Lake & Rudd be?

My claim to fame...

Cozy Powell played drums on my GCSE Music composition with me playing piano. Worst song ever, but Cozy was on it... yeah!

Yeah, I played in The 88 Boadrum NYC show, that clip would have been perfect viewing to get everyone all psyched up and shit. How about some Emerson, Lake and Rarebell?

No shit? That's very cool. Did you actually get to play with him or did he do his tracks separately?

It was a live recording in my school music room and it was seriously bad. I lost the only copy I had on cassette. He didn't do anything flash, but he lived near me at the time and used to help out occasionally at my school. I didn't know a great deal about him at the time apart from he was in Black Sabbath. *hangs head in shame*

That's still pretty fucking cool. Cozy was one of the best rock drummers of all time and you got to jam with him.
