Yeah it's hard to pick a clear favourite

Probably Electric Wizard or Enslaved but I also been really digging The Brought Low, Cathedral and Nachtmystium. They'll all probably battle it out for top spot.
edit: oooh and Grand Magus... great fucking record

I only heard that Suma record once and I do remember it knocking me on my arse so I should really get round to sorting myself out with a copy.

Ufomammut - Eve for doom, maybe Lo Pan or Humo del Cairo for stoner and Hypnos 69 for psych.

Sleeper pick of the year: Hydra Head's La Gritona release...that album blindsided me...all kinds of fuckin' awesomeness...not far behind the Dawnbringer "Nucleus" album, which is my #1 for the year...

Not stoner exactly but the best album of 2010 is probably Kvelertak.

I'm torn between the Electric Wizard, Zoroaster, and Unearthly Trance albums. All near perfection, and getting a lot of play time. Tough to pick between the three for the top spot.

For some reason on the two songs I heard from the Dawnbinger album I just couldn't get into the singer's voice. I probably need to hear more of the album to actually start liking it. At least I hope so.

Frog, give the whole album a spin if you getta chance...musically, it's exceptional...vocally, I'll concede the vocals aren't for everyone...in fact, most criticism I've encountered re: the album has to do with the vocals...I actually dig the vocals and lyrics a lot, but they're secondary to the playing in my book...
P.S. I finally gave that Integrity album you recommended a listen, and I really liked it...a definite return to form for those guys...

Ditto.

I'm a little out of touch with new stuff but it would be Ufomammut - Eve and Zoroaster - Matador would be the close #1!

Eve was phenomenal. I dunno why, but I was kinda hesitant about the whole project. Sounded like it could've been bunk. Turns out – not surprisingly – I was wrong. This will probably be the sole non-rock album that makes my top 10. Wait, there's Solace's AD. That's definitely not rock. Oh, and Droids Attack.

The rest is the usual suspects from the Small Stone catalog – Sasquatch, Brought Low – plus Stone Axe. Still want to hear the new Titan and Black Mountain before I make my list. Shame I didn't get to hear anything as progtastic as Astra this year.

Yes, Eve is another great release from the past year. It's sitting at #4 for 2010 for me. The first Ufomammut album that has totally blown me away.

Ive got some serious re-capping to do if I want to try and figure out the "best" from the past year, I know Kvelertak is gonna be a strong candidate.
Recently, Ive been spinning that Man's Gin album a bunch.

Love the new Enslaved. Chrome Hoof, Shining and Wolf People are great too but I still have a lot of catching up to do music-wise.

Did you hear Hypnos 69's final lp? JJ has a pretty dead on write-up on it here, that was the only one that touched on Astra territory for me (those dudes need to play out more), but I never heard this Hawkwind tribute, which I thought might be out there too.

I'm giving it to Ufomammut's - Eve

I think this album is flawless in concept and execution and I would do anything to see this album performed live.

Yeah that Kamni Ep is sweet as just heard that the other night.

Totally forgot about Fatso Jetson and Brant. Both fucking great albums that have got a fuck load of play on my stereo and ipod

Actually my favourite straight up Stoner Rock release of the year is Sungrazer.
here's an ace track if you haven't gotten around to checking them out yet:
