Seems like every time I saw a thread about these guys (which hasn't been for a long time now) no one ever mentioned Skyhorse Jams. No idea why. It's probably my favorite of their albums. Loud, thick blues grooves that never fail to get my head moving.

Thoughts?

That's one that I'm missing. Actually I'm missing a bunch of them. I have Pigs Never Fly, Gutter Queen and a burned copy of Northern Failures. Plus that dvd/retrospective thing they released to much fanfare a while back.

Never did get to see them live, either. Was it Dillinger Escape Plan that the guy from Cable threw a chair at or something during a show? I don't condone such things, but I know who I'd rather be listening to ten years after the fact.

The bonus/deleted scenes are the best part of the Cable DVD. Well, at least one of them is.

Skyhorse Jams is the odd-ball, and the reason for their parting ways with Hydra Head.

Failed Convict is nasty. Great record. Always dug these guys, always will. Best

I love 'em through and through.

Skyhorse Jams is pure ugly rock the way it should be. I love the early ones, but that particular period that seemed to start with Northern Failures was always out of this world to me. Never Trust a Gemini is awesome (Yeah, Missoula!). The Failed Convict is perfect...love the flow from song to song on that one, and think those tunes are the best they ever did.

Hopefully, someday, they'll get together and give us one more.

Love this band. Last time I saw them play was in some tiny church basement in 2008 or 2009. There were probably a total of 15 people there and Cable destroyed the place that night.

True Cable related story. I have an old Northern Failures t-shirt, that I still wear to this day. I wore it at a crusty punk show nearly 10 years ago, and some chick was inherently pissed off that I did. Apparently she went to school so she said with some of them, and obviously had some sort of beef with at least two members. I can't remember the details of the story, but I had to endure a parade of her drunken horseshit for this whole 2 1/2 hour show. She told me I didn't deserve to be at a punk show wearing an, "unfitting shirt like that." I still wonder who she was, and what Cable did to her. I'll never know I guess, but I'm glad a Cable shirt pissed her off to the point of madness. They do make that kind of rock.

Vic and I used to pen pal a bit and interviewed him for Daredevil many moons ago, but it's been awhile since I've talked to him. I need to stop being anti-social and get back on FB and see if he's still around.

Cable were terribly underrated and I miss their live shows dearly. They were one of the few bands that could go from hardcore to sludge to straight up rock and nail all of them right on the head. Great band.

About due for a reunion, I'd think. At least one of the lineups.

I think the last shows were in 2008.

If a reunion is on the horizon, then so's the inevitable breakup!

Never did get around to buying any of them. Maybe on my one way road trip out west soon I'll get some new driving music. They melted my face that one emissions. Right before the fests got more filler bands than quality, and subsequent yearsv proving it wasn't just a lull.

You westward bound, permanently, brother? I've been thinking about getting out of PA myself. I don't know anymore. I've just had enough of it.

There's been a Cable CD in my car for the last 8 years.
